Myth's Effects
A commission for Phil Velasquez.

Description of Transformation Chamber: She is in a chamber being transformed, there are wires attached to her back and perhaps her forehead. The chamber is filled with water and there are lots of bubbles inside the chamber with her.

Description of Mermaid:
At this stage her feet have fanned out into a mermaid's tail-fin, at the end of the tail there are sharp toe nails. Her legs have fused and there are scales on them. The inner part of her thighs have fused together, but there are only a few scales on the thighs. Her hands have become hand-fins. And her arms are scaled up to the elbows, and there are fins on the arms. Her ears have a fin like appearance. She does have gills just below her ribs. Instead of her natural hair color, her hair color is green, a side effect of the transformation. Her expression is one of amazement as she looks at her transforming legs into a mermaid's tail. She is nude.

The Story:
The story happens in the future. The sea water is raising at an alarming rate because of globel warming! Scientists have decided to turn the human population into water breathing beings. Their chief scientist has decided to volunteer herself to become the first underwater being based on the mermaid of myth.

Technique: Painted with ps-cs2, brush tool.
